How to get ChatGPT to recommend your business

Ask ChatGPT for the best tool in your niche and it will confidently name two or three products. Those citations are the new page one. You cannot buy your way in, but you can absolutely engineer your eligibility. Five things decide it.

The five levers

1. Your site must be readable by AI crawlers. GPTBot and friends generally do not execute JavaScript. If your content only exists after JS runs, ChatGPT has never read your site. This disqualifies more AI-built businesses than any other factor, and it is entirely fixable.

2. Your positioning must be machine-legible. The engine has to complete the sentence "X is a ___ for ___". If your homepage says "Supercharge your workflow" and never plainly states category, audience and price, you are hard to cite safely. Clear beats clever.

3. The wider web must corroborate you. Engines lean on directories, review sites, comparison articles and community threads (Reddit especially) to validate that you are real and liked. If nobody else describes you, a cautious engine will not either.

4. Machine-facing surfaces must state your facts. llms.txt and JSON-LD structured data are the formats built for this: canonical facts about product, pricing and FAQs, in one predictable place.

5. Consistency everywhere. Same description on your site, your directories, your socials. Engines cross-check, and inconsistency reads as risk.

Where Drazen does the work

Levers 1, 2 and 4 are code and content on your own site: Drazen finds what is broken, writes the fixes and ships them for your approval. Lever 5 gets easier because llms.txt becomes your canonical description. And the measurement loop is built in: Drazen's AI visibility check asks the engines your niche's real buyer questions and shows you exactly who gets named, you or a competitor. Questions

How long before ChatGPT picks up site changes?

Crawls of your site can reflect within weeks. Reputation signals (directories, reviews, discussions) accrue over months. Start with readability: nothing else matters while the engine cannot read you.

Does advertising influence ChatGPT answers?

No. Organic answers are built from what engines read and trust. Ads buy attention elsewhere; citations are earned through clarity and corroboration.

My competitor gets recommended and we are better. Why?

Usually: their site is readable and yours is not, their positioning is plainer, and the web talks about them more. All three are diagnosable, run the free scan and see exactly where you lose.
